Add a basic ability that allows for characters to remember the places they've visited. Something like the Hypermap but with characters having to work for it.
It could possibly:
Award XP (with post-20 reduction similar to books, as learning by observation becomes less valuable.)
Cost AP to map.
Cost some component to map. Maybe paper?
Be enhanced by some CP skill. Ideally, this skill would have another function so it wouldn't be wasted CP after fully mapping, such as being able to map/see characters 2 tiles away.
Natives of a plane could be granted basic maps or easier mapping.
