Currently the Advocate is the second least played class, behind the Redeemed. It's been apparent for years that they're fairly lackluster as a class, and these buffs hope to make them more interesting to play outside of raids.
Combat buffs- Word of the Holy Light allows the Advocate the use bows without ammunition for the cost of 1 MP, dealing electric damage. Advocates gain an innate HtH attack when under the effects of Holy Light, Illuminating Touch (4 Holy Damage, +10% to hit, 4 MP), which applies the "Illuminated" status effect on a successful hit.
Intense Halo is now the child skill of Word of the Holy Light. When Holy Light is active, supplemental Holy damage equal to half the damage of the Intense Halo aura is applied to all attacks. Additionally, Intense Halo gives a passive 10% ranged defense and 5% dodge due to the blinding light given off by the Advocate.
Utility buffs- Activating Holy Light grants the area the Sol Invictus status for 30 minutes.
Blessing of Inspiration renamed to Heaven's Blessing, now grants +10% to search.
Blessing of Inspiration now child of Heaven's Blessing, Blessed status effect grants a 1 AP discount to researching and crafting potions, MP costs reduced by 10%, and costs for crafting weapons/armor increment by 1 less (i.e. the multiplier for quality would be 3 instead of 4 with the Master crafting lines- Pristine items would cost 6 less AP to craft, but Destroyed ones would only get a 1 AP discount).
When an Advocate Anoints a character, they gain the Anointed status effect for one hour, doubling all positive MO gains. Advocates may additionally Anoint characters with Holy Water, which gives the Anointed status effect for four hours. Weapons may also be anointed with Holy Water for 1 AP and 5 MP, giving them Holy damage for 10 attacks. Advocates with Anoint may now bless Paradise Water and convert it into Holy Water for 1 AP and 4 MP.
Divine Intercession- new child skill of Anoint, allows the Advocate to Pray on the behalf of another good-aligned character in the same tile for the same cost as a normal Prayer. Prayer results last twice as long. Does not require Prayer, but Devout Supplication does decrease the AP cost by one and allow intercessory prayers to be boosted by up to 10 MP.
XP gain buffs- Advocates gain 10 XP per use of Sin Eater. |

Skill Synergies- Healing Aura- Every point healed using Heal Others grants a tick of Healing Aura (up to the maximum of 20). Activating Healing Aura in the skills panel removes one negative status effect from Good MO characters if Absolve Suffering has been purchased. |

Skill Buff- Sin Eater- can raise the MO of Neutral and Good characters, but can't increase thresholds (no Evil->Neutral or Neutral->Good). |

Advocate already has radical changes coming in B5. However, buffing Healing Aura based on other Shepherd or Advocate skills bought is a good idea. |

Also I should add that Divine Intercession somewhat like you've described it is more or less the basis of the Advocate in B5. It is the free skill and most new skills are based on it. The current Blessing tree is going away. |

Healing Aura synergies are a neat thing and they'll be in the next patch. |
