I guess it's my turn to run one again. Chaos Mafia returns! This is an open set up for 6 people that starts during the day. Typically, lots of fake claims and/or outside of thread communication occurs. Conspiracy abounds! Chaos reigns. Here are the role PMs:
| Yakuza wrote: | | You are a Yakuza, a feared member of the Japanese mafia! You are responsible for sending in the mafia's night kill. You also have the ability to kamikaze up to once per night. If you kamikaze, you target one other person. You kill yourself, but your target becomes a Convert. You win when there is a greater or equal number of mafia as there are non-mafia. |
| Fool wrote: | | You are a Fool. It is your goal to get lynched. You may accomplish this in any way. You win if you are ever lynched. |
| Lyncher wrote: | | You are a Lyncher. You feel very irritated by that bastard, <randomly selected non-mafia player>. You win if <that bastard> is lynched while you are alive. If <that bastard> is killed at night, you win with the town. |
| Shrink wrote: | | You are a Shrink. You safeguard the mental stability of the town. Once per night you may choose to visit any person in the game, including yourself. If you do so, your target will not be converted during that night. You win when all the mafia are dead. |
| Granny wrote: | | You are dear old Granny. You own a gun and are not afraid to use it. On anyone. If you are visited by anyone during the night, you will shoot them. You win when all the mafia are dead. |
| Doctor wrote: | | You are a Doctor. You have the healing touch. Once per night you may visit anyone other than yourself. If you do so, that person will not die that night. |
In addition to those roles, if the Yakuza performs a successful kamikaze attack, their target will cease to be what they were before and will receive the following role PM.
| Convert wrote: | | You have been awed by <Yakuza's name here>'s display of honor. You are no longer a <old role name> and are now a Convert. You are sided with the mafia and win when there is a greater or equal number of mafia as there are non-mafia. [The following sentences will be included as necessary.] Your fellow mafia members are <names of the other mafia members>. <You, or the name of the senior Convert> <are/is> responsible for sending in the mafia's night kill. |
It should be noted that it is possible for more than one party to win at the same time. The fool can win at the same time as the mafia, and the lyncher can win at the same time as the mafia, the fool (if the fool is their target), or the town (if their target was converted and is the last mafia left). The game is over once anyone's win condition is met.
Additionally, it is important to note that if the doctor uses their protection on the yakuza on the same night that the yakuza uses his kamikaze attack, the yakuza will not die, but the conversion will still occur as normal (assuming the shrink doesn't interfere).
Some more rules (pay special attention to rule 3-6):
1) The game will start during the day. Days last until a lynch consensus forms. A 72 hour deadline will be imposed at moderator's discretion.
2) Night will last until I have received actions from all acting players.
3) You may quote any role or conversion PM I send to you. You may not quote any other PM I send to you.
4) You may edit your posts at any time and for any reason. This may or may have negative consequences as determined by the other players.
5) You may talk outside of the thread with any of the other players through any means at any time.
6) After you die, you may continue to post in the thread and you may also continue to talk outside the thread as per rule 5.
7) I will post any and all additional rules or clarifications to the game thread and will keep the asker's identity anonymous.

I mean the setup IS a bit less appealing in my opinion, although I literally don't care what mafia I play as long as I play it.

You are all in a town or something. I dunno. The 6 of you (including that weird two-headed person) all stand around because this is a town in which no one actually does anything, clearly. There's definitely no one going to die tonight. Definitely not.
With 6 alive, it will take 4 to lynch, but you don't really have any incentive to do that, do you?

The mafia has a night kill as usual. The Yakuza has the ability to kamikaze, night kill, both, or neither. In practice, they usually do both. If they are saved such that there is more than 1 mafia member, the most senior member of the mafia is responsible for sending in the night kill.
Also, you can't vote for any non players other than this guy. |
