8:17 PM - BlackHeartKabal: HOW DO YOU GET AN S ON LEBLANC
Town: Jailer - Each day, before a lynch is determined, you may choose 1 player to detain in your jail. You will be able to speak with them the following night. Additionally, they will be unable to perform any night action and will be protected from any nightkills that night.
Mafia: Strongman - You’re big, tough, and badass. When performing the mafia nightkill, the first time your kill would be prevented by any means, you succeed anyway. This can only happen once in the game.
Third Party: Survivor - You don’t care what is going on here you just don’t want to die. You are entirely immune to nightkills. Now, just as long as you can keep these crazy people from killing you…
Shadok
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Detective - Each night you may choose someone and receive a short description of one of the roles they did not choose. This won’t tell you their actual alignment, but it will tell you 1 thing which it isn’t. For the rest I guess you’ll need to do some… Detective work.
Mafia: Quack - You’re a mafia aligned Doctor, each night you may choose someone and protect them from any nightkills. But as an added bonus because we don’t even know if the town will even have nightkills, you also protect them from investigation. How about that?
Third Party: Inquisitor - I can neither confirm nor deny any if your nationality is Spanish. You are like a Serial Killer and can kill every night, but with a few extra bonuses. You are 100% immune to nightkills, and if the target of your kill happens to survive for any reason, you recruit them and they become aligned with you. This makes you kind of like a cult, too.
Armykid500
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Bulletproof Townie - You are pretty paranoid, and wear a bulletproof vest at all times. This has never paid off until now. You have a 1 shot death immunity, and will survive any 1 nightkill or lynch attempt.
Mafia: Hooker - You’re sexy and you know it. Each night you may select 1 person to spend the night with. You will be so distracting, they will be unable to perform any actions. They also won’t bother to even remember your name because you’re just some hooker to them. Pricks. And they wonder why you’re helping to kill them?
Third Party: Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo - You are the result of some terrible scientific experiment which should never have been attempted in the first place. Nobody is really all that sure WHAT you are, but SCIENCE! Every person who targets you is rendered unable to harm you in any way starting the following day (i.e. they can no longer vote for you and may not nightkill you). You win when the majority of players are rendered unable to harm you, assuming you’re still alive when that happens.
invisime
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Vigilante - You’ve got a gun and you know how to use it. Every night you may choose 1 person and bring them to probably justice at the business end of your shotgun.
Mafia: Redirector - You have some tricks and you know how to misdirect. Every night you may sleect 2 players. Any actions targeting 1 will be swapped to the other.
Third Party: Witch Doctor - You’re practicing your dark magics and ready to raise the dead. Every night you may choose someone to perform your ritual on. If they would be killed, you raise them as a zombie secretly in your service. Nobody (not even the zombie) will know they are a zombie except you. You win when you have 2 zombies under your control, as this is all you need to overrun the town.
Aidan
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Detective - Each night you may choose someone and receive a short description of one of the roles they did not choose. This won’t tell you their actual alignment, but it will tell you 1 thing which it isn’t. For the rest I guess you’ll need to do some… Detective work.
Mafia: Houndmaster - You have a whole bunch of vicious dogs around your house. As such, nobody may target you with any night action for any reason. Any attempt to do so will fail.
Third Party: Witch Doctor - You’re practicing your dark magics and ready to raise the dead. Every night you may choose someone to perform your ritual on. If they would be killed, you raise them as a zombie secretly in your service. Nobody (not even the zombie) will know they are a zombie except you. You win when you have 2 zombies under your control, as this is all you need to overrun the town.
rokkanslainte
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Doctor - Each Night you may choose someone to protect from a nightkill. Pretty standard.
Mafia: Ninja - You’re sneaky and stealthy. Any time you perform the mafia nightkill, you may not be targeted by any means.
Wozzy
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Bodyguard - Every night you may choose someone to protect at night. If they are targeted by a nightkill, you will step in and fight the attacker. There is a 50% chance the attacker will die, and a 50% chance that you will die. In either case, your protected target survives.
Mafia: Madman - Once per game you may scramble all night actions. Everyone will instead target someone else at random. This includes all mafia actions.
Third Party: Fool - YOU FOOL! You just want to show everyone your greatest trick yet. You win when lynched.
Skoffin
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Vigilante - You’ve got a gun and you know how to use it. Every night you may choose 1 person and bring them to probably justice at the business end of your shotgun.
Mafia: Houndmaster - You have a whole bunch of vicious dogs around your house. As such, nobody may target you with any night action for any reason. Any attempt to do so will fail.

Mafia: Madman - Once per game you may scramble all night actions. Everyone will instead target someone else at random. This includes all mafia actions.
Third Party: Irate Midget wielding a a Shillelagh - You’re only half a man and easily unnoticed, and that really cheeses you off. Every night you may threaten someone with your Shillelagh. they will no longer be able to vote for you for the rest of the game. You win if at any point there are enough people unable to vote for you that lynching you is impossible.
Pikanchion
You have 3 choices for roles, please choose 1:
Town: Doctor - Each Night you may choose someone to protect from a nightkill. Pretty standard.
Mafia: Houndmaster - You have a whole bunch of vicious dogs around your house. As such, nobody may target you with any night action for any reason. Any attempt to do so will fail.
Third Party: Rabid anti-gun nut - You’re determined to put a stop to all of this violence. Every night you may designate a new house to be a gun-free zone. No townie will be able to perform a nightkill on that person. You win if every remaining house in town is designated a gun-free zone thus stopping all crime through the awesome power of signage.
A quick breakdown of some of the roles that you might wonder about, including secret upgrades. every third party and mafia had some secret trigger to upgrade their abilities (mafia's trigger was always "be the last mafia remaining)
Jailer never had any ability to kill their detainee. UNP just straight up lied about that.
Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooo was actually a radically re-flavored night jester with the added bonus that anyone who visited her would be unable to harm or vote her. I wasn't sure if this was going to draw unwanted attention her way or not, and for a while it looked like she was going to be lynched. But then she wasn't and everyone was just sort of fine with leaving her be. After going 1 whole night with nobody vising her, Skoffin's abilities upgraded so she could visit someone and spread the goo herself. Except she targeted ArmyKid. Who was in jail.
Rabid anti-gun nut was a glorified arsonist role with the little bonus of rendering the target immune to pro-town nightkills. Which the town didn't actually have in the end. If at any time there were more dead people with signed houses than alive people with signed houses (assuming at least 1 signed house alive) he'd have been able to stage a protest and obstruct 1 lynch, then place 2 signs the following night. this was intended to be a last push to win move. Stop the lynch of a signed person and throw up the last 2 signs needed to win.It didn't have anything to do with Woozy's BG protection not protection Aidan.
Inquisitor was actually pretty freaking powerful already and didn't ACTUALLY have its own power-up ability. Instead on death, if he had any recruits, he could pass his nightkill along to one of them. The recruits would not be able to recruit a failed kill.
Madman was a favorite role of mine and you'll see what it did later.
Redirector would have actually been pretty terrifying, since as the last mafia they would be able to pick and choose the targets for everyone, with a 50% success rate.
So, Skoffin barely managed to win first because after the Armykid lynch, her win condition was fulfilled instantly. She just needed at least 50% of the other players to be gooed. And thanks to BHK, she had that. BHK didn't have a majority since Skoffin and UNP were both still alive, so he couldn't actually joint win at that point.
Night actions and the Manman's special stuff incoming _________________
UsernamePending - Jail Shadok
Shadok - (In jail)
invisime - kill Armykid, swap Invisime/Pika
Aidan - Detect Skoffin (gets town role)
rokkanslainte - protect Skoffin
Wozzy - protect Pika
BlackHeartKabal - Sanity
Pikanchion - Sign Shadok’s house
The game had a lot of strange things that were exceptions to things that were said to apply to everything. This includes at one point an exception to an exception. Pika was actually able to successfully target people who were in jail even though jailed targets are supposed to be immune to being targeted.
So then invisime died, and that's when the Madman role got a little bit crazy:
Quote:
You've lost your only partner! This hasn't helped your sanity very much. As such, you've now gone ENTIRELY BATSHIT INSANE and your role has changed:
At night you may perform up to 3 actions from this list. You may not perform the same action twice in one night.
#1: Mafia nightkill: picking someone and murdering them.
#2: Madman role target scramble: randomizing the night actions of everyone. You are no longer limited to only using this once per game.
#3: Needlessly complicated and brutal overkill: Must be used along with the mafia nightkill. Makes your nightkill bypass any immunites or other abilities which would otherwise prevent it.
#4: Nobody expects me to be a little to the left: You move a little to the left, which nobody expected. This somehow makes you unkillable at night.
#5: I'M WATCHING YOU: Select someone and learn their exact role, alignment, and what they have done every night so far.
#6: Ramblings: Choose a player and go on and on with mad ravings in front of them. This has a (small) chance to drive them insane by association and recruit them to your cause. This chance increases if they are third party, and grows even larger the more votes that person had at the end of the day, provided nobody named BlackHeartKabal was voting for them.
#7: DON'T TELL ME WHAT TO DO: The following day you can break some of the rules. You can vote as many times as you like, but can't hammer.
#8: Dastardly Twin Time Bombs: Choose 2 people. If either one of them votes the other, the bombs will go off and knock both parties out for the remainder of the day. Wait, what do you mean that's not how time bombs work? Well screw you.
A successful recruit would have calmed him down and re-locked these abilities. The multi-vote thing was a dangerous power but since he couldn't hammer he'd need help from someone who absolutely doesn't share his win condition. I'm not sure why UNP thought that this ability was confirmation on literally everything else BHK had to say. His watching ability actually had a 50% chance to fail, giving him totally absurd and ridiculous results. I actually really wanted to see the time bombs in action, and may use them in a future game

Wozzy - protect Aidan (MADNESS: BlackHeartKabal)
Pikanchion - Sign Skoffin’s house (MADNESS: Wozzy)
BlackHeartKabal - scramble, don’t tell me what to do move a bit to the left
This is where everyone got confused, which was the point of the Madman role. UNP's role was actually immune to the madness because it triggers before night even starts. Wozzy did indeed try to protect Aidan but due to the madman effect he ended up re-targeting to BHK. shadok tried to kill Armykid but by sheer dumb luck was re-targeted to Aidan, which led to a heck of a lot of confusion the following night. Pikanchion was actually saved from Skoffin's night jester thing because he was redirected to Wozzy, and probably could have come out and maybe cleared things up if he thought doing so would help him, since he knew he didn't intend to target Wozzy. Aidan accidentally re-targeted back to Skoffin and got the exact same result before he died. This ended up preventing Skoffin's power-up from triggering, since she was actually visited in the night.
This was another confusing night for people. Pikanchion died WHILE IN JAIL, and by the time Shadok got there he was already very very dead. BHK got actual results from watching but didn't learn his abilities. He just sort of guessed them based on Shadok's roleclaim. At this point I was really expecting someone to step in and go "You know BHK has way too many powers to actually be pro-town... In fact didn't he say he wasn't with the town?"
Since nobody visited Skoffin that night, she got this:
Night 4 was where it all came down. BHK tried to recruit Skoffin, which in actuality was a d20 roll. DC 15. +2 for Skoffin being third party and +1 for every vote on her at the end of the day, provided BHK wasn't voting her himself. His recruit roll:
[03:05:34] <Teksura> !roll 1d20 +2
[03:05:35] <TekBot_v2> Teksura rolled 1 d20! They rolled: 1 :: +2 (modifier) - Total 3
Yeah. TelBot is an asshole.
The failed recruit attempt got BHK gooped and made it impossible to lynch Skoffin that night. Skoffin could have won right then and there except Army was in jail and so she was unable to actually goop him. So day 5 started and it was virtually impossible for Skoffin to lose without directly playing against her win condition and lynching BHK or something. _________________

I personally thought army picking BP was unlikely because BP isn't fun. I thought he was something insane like an arsonistic role with a remote lighter.
Skoffin should have recruited me, since I was guaranteed gooable.
The book thing was sketchy, but was better than nothing.
All and all, BHK towntold, so I trusted them over others. Their claim of a politician was, uhh, sketchy, but there was always someone sketchier. I want another of these without a boring third! _________________ 8:17 PM - BlackHeartKabal: HOW IS 42 KILLS AN A

Town lost when BHK visited Skoffin, though the writing is the on the wall why I'm not the killer and BHK is when he doesnt investigate which when considered is the most anti-town (gamethrow esque) thing you could possibly do if he WAS town. It didn't really matter though, but I will repeat something I always say.
If you are going to lynch somebody always let them talk before you lynch them. This is doubly important when there are this few people remaining and you know that Skoffin and BHK are going to be working with eachother going forward UNP. Your vote and my vote on this day is a death sentence, don't waste it.
I... Do not think I'm the only one who is going to disagree with you on this. And not just because he did the exact opposite of towntelling when he literally told everyone he wasn't town.
From where I was sitting, it looked a lot like BHK showed he could vote several times in a day at one point and then UNP treated that as confirmation that literally everything BHK could ever say is true. I mean, there were a lot of questions that really should have been asked, like:
"So what is the name of your role?"
"What were your previous win conditions?"
"What is your locked win condition?"
"You claimed third party why the hell should we trust you to do anything other than advance us towards your own win condition anyway?"
"Where did this book come from?"
"How is it that this amazing book that a mystery player gave to you just happens to do things specific to your role?"
"Why does your story change from being given a book by someone to just gaining it on your own?"
"What exactly have you been doing at night all game, anyway?"
"So what was your original ability?"
What happened here is called tunneling. Normally it's associated with someone who is utterly convinced that X is scum and refuses to consider any possibility other than their assumption that X is scum. In this case, you kinda got it stuck in your head that BHK was pro-town and went after pretty much everyone who expressed any doubt.
But then again it's really easy to criticize when I knew what everyone was the entire time. It's very different when actually playing and you have access to limited information. and it's also easy to point out mistakes after the fact when you know what all the pieces were and what everyone should have done different. _________________
