Here is a challenge for you: What are the top greatest things in the world? Things that have had an amazing impact on the world in general in some way.
Conditions:
* It can be anything; a type of animal, a place, a thing, a concept, an ideology, etc. It can be anything that exists, and feel free have to make the case for why it's great.
* It should be able to stand the test of time eg a particular phone would be outdated fairly quickly, whereas the telephone would merit. |

The internet. It changed how the world communicates with one another, suddenly information can be accessed anywhere by anyone (well, compared to before when you had to seek out books about a subject to get information). _________________

High quality turkey bacon. I have Alpha-gall allergy and cannot eat normal bacon.
Seriously though, I think farmers markets, food co-ops, and CSA's are probably the best thing around to bring a community together or even create one out of thin air. Food/meal-time is a key part of humanity and I love to see it brought back to its local roots. It makes it a more intimate experience. _________________ hi |

I submit, the humble potato!
Potatoes are the most versatile vegetable in the world and almost everyone is happy to eat them. You can boil ém, mash ém, stick ém in a stew, make chips, add them to a salad and more. They can go from the simple chip to a fancy potato dauphinoise, potatoes can be added as a side to practically anything.
Potatoes are, simply, the best. |

To think, not one of you heartless bastards has said "love."
I'm telling Mom. |

I wonder if "Mothers" count. I mean without them, none of us would be here. _________________

Proper sewage disposal systems in population dense areas. And don't even let me get started on the joys of having modern sewage treatment systems. |

Of course mothers count, but I think most of us first learned what Love means from our mothers to start with, so maybe Dachshund is trying to kill two birds with one stone here _________________ For the Kin! |
