Crafting 2 Knives that deals 3 base damage each from 1 Chunks of Steel, which when you used to attack is gone forever is OP? Then Carving Knives should be destroyed no matter what in one swing to balance things out...
Anyway, like the title said, Just make them craft-able again.
They were nerfed down to 3 part way through the breath.
I was under the mistaken impression you could still craft 10 throwing knives for 1 steel, like in nexus war. This new knowledge makes me reconsider my opinion of Spell Projection somewhat.

It's not the attacking, it's the crafting thereof.
Crafting Carving Knives is the best way to level by smithing by getting 1.68XP/AP (if you're a Guild Member) or 1.2XP/AP if you're not in the Wondercraft.
Getting two knives from one Steel makes this 1.45XP/AP without and 2.08XP/AP with wondercraft lvl 2 standing.
I've gotten all confused from this discussion, and I think ambiguous use of the word "knives" might be the culprit. Is the OP suggesting that multiple Throwing Knives should be produced from one chunk of steel?

Any of you able to craft throwing knives at all?
Read the wiki, you can't. This whole suggestion was "Let us craft throwing knives". _________________

Anyways, yeah, since Throwing Knives are worse than rocks these days, I see no reason not to make them craftable, and the XP for doing so can bet set at whatever seems reasonable and not too broken.
Hey, at the same time, they could be removed (or at least reduced) from the Gun Store find rates, too, that would make firearms users happy too.
